Seeking to Walk Worthy in Wholeness
In the first prayer in Ephesians, the great subject is the power, the surpassing power of God in carrying out His purpose as setting Christ as the head. WE in Christ.
The second prayer in Ephesians, the subject is love. Love and faith dwelling in us and having knowledge beyond intellectual grasp. CHRIST in us.
These prayers are the power of the great mystery, not when we hold them, but when they hold us. In praying these prayers, we begin to understand the secrets of our God. Without these prayers to direct our hearts, the doctrine is ordinary knowledge. When we live in the spirit of these prayers, we can realize something of the ‘riches of His grace’ Ephesians 1:7, and ‘the riches of His glory’ Ephesians 1:18 and 3:16.
In chapter 4:1 of Ephesians, we are exhorted to walk worthy of the calling wherewith we are called. Without true knowledge of ‘our calling,’ ‘our standing,’ ‘our sonship,’ how can any believer walk worthy? Instead of believers walking worthy, there are many who are ignorant of the truth in these prayers. Some have been taught the essence of these truths, but have forgotten the meaning of them. Some are foolish enough to seek to make perfect in the flesh that which was begun in the spirit. Many want the power, but not the commitment.
None can be professors, lawyers, doctors, or skilled tradesmen, without the passing of a minimum standard or exam. It is amazing to note that no other profession would allow anyone to enter and be a teacher, without the evidence of proficient knowledge of their field, with the exception of the field of teaching Christianity. Even if the Christian teachers are learned, it is rare that they have been faithful to the basics of Biblical research. They get deceived into thinking that they are approved before God for any cutting of the Word of God.
No other book in life is treated the way the Bible is treated and mistreated. No other book could be understood if it was treated in the manner in which the written Word has been revised and revised and revised again. It is no wonder why there is so much confusion and there is such a low standard of believing. The excellency of the knowledge and power of God has been compromised by inept teachings.
In these prayers in Ephesians, the great weight is ‘that we may know what is the hope of HIS calling.’ But many Christians only want to know their calling, their inheritance, their power, their enduements, their benefits, their answers. The overwhelming amount of Christian prayers are self-centered and the accomplishments of Christ are brought in as a mere supplement. Until we have knowledge of the rightly-divided Church Epistles…‘the things of Christ,’ ‘the calling,’ ‘the standing,’ ‘the service to the Body’…we shall not be able to walk worthy. Our lives are not our own.
This year, ‘Walking Worthy 2019’ will be held at the Seelbach Hilton hotel in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. The dates are Dec 27, 28, 29, 30th. The topic will be teachings on the Whole, Sozo, Man.
This annual time together is one of teaching and fellowship. The days will be solidly filled with the simplicity of God’s Word. Believing and inspiration and renewed commitment are the great things that take root at Walking Worthy fellowships. If you are seeking to learn more about a walk that is living in the citizenship of Christ, this is the place to be. It is all about the ‘how’ of walking worthy.
His promises are faithful,
